When nobody is watching, I strip my soul bare, shed my clothes and I pretend. I pretend that you can see me, that you are watching me and yet I pretend like I don’t know you are there. I lay back and stretch, feeling your eyes on my body, half in light and shadow. I do this every night. Some people pray, I bare my soul and body to the night. I know you can’t see me. I know you never will, but I do it just the same.
Half in shadow, half in light, I bare myself to you.
